Straight from the web.
Drag an image or selected text from any website onto the shelf. Tuckby keeps a copy, even after the tab is closed.
For macOS
A little shelf at the edge of your Mac’s screen. Drop anything on it, keep working, drag it out later.
Tuckby is a pocket for the things you’re moving around: the step between “I need this” and “this goes there”.
Drag anything to the right edge of the screen. The shelf slides in on its own and takes it.
Switch apps, close windows, change Spaces. The shelf stays out of the way until you need it.
Press ⌃⌥⌘D and drag the item out into a mail, a chat, a folder or onto the Trash.
Drag an image or selected text from any website onto the shelf. Tuckby keeps a copy, even after the tab is closed.
Right-click any file or folder in Finder and choose Add to Shelf. Tuckby only remembers where it is, nothing gets copied.
New screenshots land on the shelf, ready for a chat, a mail or a ticket. If you like, they leave your desktop too.
Drag an item into a mail, a chat, a folder or any other app. It stays on the shelf for the next place.
Drag an item onto the Trash in the Dock and it’s gone. Everything you didn’t pin tidies itself up.
Press ⌃⌥⌘D from anywhere, even over full-screen apps, and the shelf is there. Press it again and it’s gone.
Tuckby does one thing and tries to do it without getting in your way.
Drag something to the right edge of the screen and the shelf appears. Move away and it slides out again.
Anything you can drag fits: documents, folders, pictures from the browser, selected text and URLs.
Unpinned items tidy themselves up after 1 hour, 24 hours or a week, or never if you prefer.
Files stay where they are; the shelf only remembers them. Images, text and links are kept as copies.
No Dock icon, no window to manage, and it never steals focus. Open at login and forget it’s there until you reach for it.

Tuckby is still young. These are the things on the list. No dates, no promises, but this is the direction.
Choose which side of the screen the shelf lives on.
Pick a different key combination than ⌃⌥⌘D.
Preview an item on the shelf without opening it.
Select multiple items and drag them out together.
A shelf that feels at home on every screen you use.
Bundle items that belong together, like everything for one project.
Tuckby isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first launch once.
Download the disk image and open it.
Drag Tuckby onto the Applications folder.
Open Tuckby from Applications and confirm the first launch:
Nothing. Tuckby is free.
Apple only lets apps open without asking once they’re notarized, which Tuckby isn’t yet. The app is signed, and macOS asks only on the first launch (see the installation steps above).
Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon or Intel.
No. Files and folders are stored as references, so nothing takes up extra space and the shelf follows a file when it’s moved or renamed. Images, text and links that don’t exist as files are stored as copies.
On your Mac only, in ~/Library/Application Support/Tuckby/. Tuckby has no account and no cloud sync.
Only for link previews: when you drop a link, Tuckby loads its title and icon from that website. There are no analytics and no tracking.
Download the new version and replace the old one in Applications. Your shelf and settings are kept. All versions are listed on the download page. All versions →

That’s Tucky, Tuckby’s mascot. Tucky lives in the app icon and keeps an eye on your things.
